College Spring Break

What each student tends to do for college spring break will be up to them and their personality. While you may see a lot of shows showing college students jetting off for fun and parties on the beach, most actually prefer to do something else. Some that want to go can not afford to do so, and that means they are going to find somewhere else to go as well. When I was in college, such a thing never crossed my mind. I always headed home to see my family.

College spring break is often around Easter, and is much needed by the time it arrives. College is hard, and living on your own the first few years is hard as well. By the time college spring break rolls around, most students are worn out and tired, and are in much need of a break from learning and testing. Some go nuts and enjoy the party life to blow off steam, and others have different ideas of what it means to relax. Those going off to the beach are a travel agents dream, but as a parent, you may not want to pay for that. If it falls on you, and you can not afford it, you have to think of other things they could do.

Though I always went home to hang out with my family and friends during college spring break, I realize that some simply do not want to do that. You do not have to go to the beach to have a good time, especially if that is not something you would normally do anyway. You could go almost anywhere. Some of my friends would organize road trips and just travel in a general direction for college spring break. They would stop where they thought something looked interesting, and stayed wherever they ended up at the end of the day. For me, that would beat the beach any day.

Students who are extremely serious about their studies may want to skip college spring break fun all together and do more studying. You can do this, but it is not as wise as it might seem. The brain needs a chance to recharge at times, and you can actually get more out of your studies if you take some time off from it, even if you only use a few days of your college spring break. Take some quiet time to relax and recharge, and get the benefits that everyone else is getting from taking a little time off.
